Indigenous Tourism Ontario & Shingwauk Kinoomaage Gamig (SKG) are pleased to invite you to our Truth & Reconciliation event and activities at SKG’s campus in Baawaating (aka: Sault Ste Marie) on September 29th & 30th, 2023.

Community-Based Tourism Awareness Program – The program will be welcoming, supportive, and embrace every person and community interested in learning about Indigenous tourism as a catalyst for cultural preservation, sustainable community development, and socio-economic growth.

Service Excellence The main goal of this workshop is to empower you to become well-versed in service excellence with the ability to manage a variety of scenarios and build meaningful relationships with the guests you may encounter.

Leading for Excellence Workshop

Leading For Excellence – This workshop will lead you on a learning journey to provide you with the knowledge, tools, and inspiration to create memorable experiences with guests to your business.
Blanket Exercise

Join us for this interactive activity that educates around Colonization and the impacts on Indigenous Peoples and communities. This exercise is recommended for ages 16 and up.

Residential School Survivor Panel | 2nd Generation Survivors Panel & Keynote Speakers

Listen to survivors share their stories first-hand. No registration required.
Moccasin Workshop

Make a pair of children’s moccasins and reflect on their significance on this important day.
This workshop is led by Colleen Nolan from Garden River First Nation. All supplies are provided.
Medicine Pouch Workshop
