Safe Travels Stamp Program: The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has created a self-certified Safe Travels Stamp based on the worldwide industry protocols. The specially designed Safe Travels Stamp will allow travellers to recognize governments and companies around the world which have adopted health and hygiene global standardized protocols – so consumers can experience ‘Safe Travels’.

The future is unpredictable but as Ontario begins the rollout of vaccinations and the province opens up, we want you to be ready to operate and welcome guests safely. Gov. of Ontario Announces Second Provincial Emergency
Province of Ontario Issues Stay-at-Home Order and Introduces Enhanced Enforcement Measures to Reduce Mobility. In response to a doubling in COVID-19 cases over the past two weeks, the real and looming threat of the collapse of the province’s hospital system and alarming risks posed to long-term care homes as a result of high COVID-19 transmission rates, the Ontario government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health and other health experts, is immediately declaring a second provincial emergency under s 7.0.1 (1) of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMPCA).

Premier Ford is expected to make an announcement today to clarify what the stay-at-home order means for Ontarians as well as highlight the legal parameters for the order, which comes into effect on Thursday January 14th at 12:01am (EST). The official Emergency Regulations will be released shortly after.

SSM Community Art Project Features Indigenous Artists
Over the past few months, FutureSSM and the Sault Ste. Marie Downtown Association have been working with community partners and local youth to revitalize neighbourhoods, provide mentorship opportunities for youth, celebrate local history, promote arts & culture and create economic opportunities. Through the Community Art Project, Indigenous artists like Thomas Sinclair, have the opportunity to share their passion with the city.

Thomas’ story adds colour, vibrancy and character to Sault Ste. Marie’s urban environment, giving people another reason to add this city to their list of places to visit! Check out Thomas’ mural to learn how art is helping to celebrate history and support economic development through tourism in Sault Ste. Marie.
