In Conversation with Kathryn Gorman-Lovelady

Moonstar Lodge is a place to come for art, spirituality and education for the past 41 years. We have ceremonies here for equinoxes/solstices and can marry people too. We have been included in the Bay Studio Tour for 10 years.

I am in a wheelchair. The home we live in was never accessible, and my rheumatoid arthritis hit very quickly. A lot of people who can’t enter a building won’t let you know, so we wanted to make the space accessible for people who are not mobile. We remade the table heights, and put appropriate handles on things, for guests. I wanted the space to be accessible, bright, and beautiful, so all guests could be comfortable.

We also needed to refurbish office and computing infrastructure, like having better software and computer monitors. We wanted to expand the reach of our business, and put our inventory online. With resources funded by the TRF, and I am getting requests for weddings again.
